This May, we're releasing an update that allows you to start workouts, set alarms, and more using just your voice – plus, a completely redesigned Custom Photo Sharing feature that gives you the tools to create your own data overlay masterpieces.

Voice Control [Beta]

Navigate menus or start activities with the press of a button. Hold the Action Button and say "start a trail run", "set an alarm", or "check the weather" to perform desired tasks in just seconds. Additional examples include:

  • Stay organized: Say, "Remind me to walk the dog at 6 pm" to utilize the new Reminders widget, or set your morning alarm before bed by saying, "Set an alarm for 6 am."
  • Start moving: Just say, "Start a trail run," or "Start a five mile run" and your watch handles the setup.
  • Check the data: Ask to "Check the weather" or "Open sleep" to see how well you recovered overnight without scrolling through widgets.

Custom Photo Sharing

Turn your activity data into a photo worth sharing. We're giving you creative control over how you share your wins, and upgrading the toolkit for the creators and the storytellers.

Unleash Your Creativity

  • The Race Photo: Choose from dozens of data templates in our library and overlay it on your activity photos for an instant, professional social media post.
  • Video Ready: Download the transparent overlay and drop it into your favorite third-party editing software (like Instagram/TikTok, CapCut, Premiere). Now, you can have your pace, distance, and elevation floating right over your action footage.

The data overlays can be saved as transparent PNGs that allow maximum creativity in your content, so we encourage – and look forward – to seeing your creativity on display across social media.

Strength Updates

How strength training is tracked on any wearable device can be complex, to say the least. With this update, we're working to make recording your strength exercises as frictionless as possible – and making it even easier to edit your activities after the fact.

Refined Reps & Weight Tracking

  • Improved Rep Tracking: For exercises that don't involve hand movement (where auto-detection isn't possible), the watch now intelligently assumes you hit your target rep count. And for movements where counting can be more difficult, the watch now initiates a 5 second delay once the target rep count is hit, ensuring your data is complete before transitioning to the rest phase.
  • Edit Details in the App: Full post-workout editing is now available in the COROS app. For unstructured sessions, you can even manually add missed sets or adjust time durations.
  • Edit Details on the Watch: After a set, you’ll see an improved prompt to edit reps and weight via touch or the dial. You must make these edits before the rest interval begins to log them on-wrist.

Optimized Watch Flow

  • Quiet Form Guidance: To keep your momentum, strength animations no longer auto-play at the start of every exercise. Instead, they are tucked away as an automatic data page at the end of your standard data screens—view them only when you need a form check.
  • Smart Transitions: The rest/edit page now features a 5-second buffer before moving on (skipped entirely if "no rest" is configured).
  • Cleaner Visuals: Warm-ups, recoveries, and cool-downs no longer display exercise animations, keeping the focus on the current phase of your session.

Dynamic Workout Reordering

No more sticking to a rigid plan if the gym is crowded or you’re feeling a pivot:

  • Live Reordering: Pause your workout to skip remaining sets of your current exercise, remove future exercises entirely, or move a future exercise to the "up next" slot.
  • Smart Progression: Skipping an exercise automatically shifts the sequence so you can keep moving without manual fumbling, and your watch will ask you at the end if you want to go back and hit the sets you skipped.

Control Center

You can access Control Center from your main Watch Face with a quick swipe to the left, or for watches with an Action Button, a single press there will bring it up too. We've also made a few adjustments to the Control Center to make it even more convenient:

  • Quickly toggle between Daily, Do Not Disturb, and Sleep Mode.
  • Headphone settings are now available in your Control Center.
  • AMOLED Display watches have Brightness setting added.
  • APEX 4 adds Speaker volume, and a "Water" mode to play a tone to clear the speaker after exposure to liquid.

Distance Alerts for Runs

"Alerts" vs. "Laps" - Standard Run

In a regular run when you are not following a structured workout, you now have two distinct ways to track your progress.

Distance Alerts (The "Check-in")

Think of this like you would a nutrition alert, but for distance. A simple timer, going off at your specified distance interval.

  • How It Works: It notifies you every time you hit your target interval (e.g., every half mile) based on your total activity distance.
  • The Big Change: It does not create a lap. It’s just a "heads-up" on your stats for that most recent distance segment.
  • Best For: Runners who want to check in on their pacing regularly without slicing their post-run data into many laps.

Auto Lap - Distance (The "Lap Maker")

For your daily runs, this is the classic behavior you are used to.

  • How It Works: Every time you reach your set distance from the previous lap trigger, the watch creates a new lap in your data and notifies you of your previous lap's stats.

Auto Lap - Position (The "Lap Maker")

This new lap setting is perfect for your looped runs, hill repeats, and backyard ultras:

  • By Start: Laps occur automatically every time you pass the starting point of your run.
  • By Lap Press: Laps occur every time you return to the spot where you manually hit the lap button. Many of these laps can be created, you can have multiple spots be the location where a lap is triggered.
  • By Both: Covers all your bases by lapping at the start location and your manual lap locations.

Structured Workouts

When you are following a specific training plan, the rules shift slightly to protect your workout structure.

Distance Alerts: These work relative to your workout's lap / stage. If you set a 1-mile Distance Alert, it will nudge you every mile within that specific workout block. Crucially, it will still not trigger a lap, so it won't interfere with your workout's programmed steps.

  • This is also the classic behavior you are used to.

Auto Lap: This is Disabled. In a structured workout, the "Lap" is reserved for moving you from one interval (like a Sprint) to the next (like a Rest).

Wahoo Integration

The partnership between COROS and Wahoo is designed to give you total flexibility over your training ecosystem. Here are the two main features now available:

  • Seamless Two-Way Data Sync: Your training history can now be unified. Activities recorded on COROS or Wahoo devices can automatically upload to both the COROS training platform and the Wahoo app. No matter which device you use for the day, your data can stay in sync across both platforms.
  • Direct KICKR RUN Integration: COROS watches can now connect directly to the Wahoo KICKR RUN treadmill via Bluetooth. This allows your watch to receive high-accuracy speed and distance data directly from the treadmill, ensuring your indoor running metrics are perfectly dialed in without the need for extra sensors.

Beyond the data, keep an eye out for custom Wahoo-inspired watch faces and bands coming to the COROS lineup later this summer!

And plenty more.

  • Your Indoor Runs can now impact your Running Fitness metrics.
  • Hybrid Fitness and XC Ski modes now support Structured Workout building and scheduling.
  • Updated activity list design in the app.
    • New "Tags" filter so you can see which activities have photos saved, voice notes, or were group activities. Further tag filtering options coming soon.
  • Sleep Mode updates:
    • AMOLED Watches: The sleep watch face now displays in a soft amber color (instead of deep red)
    • A new pop-up alert will display asking you to confirm if you want to exit sleep mode if it is detected that you have woken up and begun your day before reaching your set Wake time (judged by step frequency). This gentle alert will not have any sound to avoid disturbing you in case you are still attempting to sleep, and it will automatically dismiss with your watch remaining in its normal sleep mode if no interaction occurs.
  • COROS NOMAD adds Endurance satellite mode, providing up to 56 hours of GPS activity tracking.
  • Pins and Waypoints on your map in the COROS app now display their GPS coordinates.
  • When navigating trail routes with Waypoints, time spent at them is listed on the activity summary lap table, so you can see your "rest time".
  • Recovery timer optimizations for long activities.
  • New "MULTIDATA RUN" watch face, the first watch face displaying your daily and weekly running distance.
  • Alarm clock optimizations.
